Summer is here!

Summer is a great time for Christian youth groups to get together and have fun. Here are a few ideas for activities you can do together:

Go on a mission trip.

There are many opportunities for Christian youth groups to go on mission trips during the summer. This is a great way to serve others and learn more about God's love. Whilst many assume mission trips are abroad and on a large scale, this is not always the case! Why not plan a short mission trip in your local village/town and bless others in your community?

Have a summer camp.

If you have the resources, you can host your own summer camp for your youth group. This is a great way to create memories that will last a lifetime. A residential trip combining food, fun, fellowship with some Bible teaching and opportunities for ministry is a great start, whether it's a few days or a few weeks.

Go on a retreat.

Retreats are a great way for Christian youth groups to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and focus on their faith. There are plenty of retreat centres around the UK that both allow you to plan your own programme or join in with an organised one.

Have a service project.

Service projects are a great way to give back to your community and show God's love in action. From car washes to food stalls, help with shopping or companionship for the elderly, there are many ways that your youth can be a blessing to those around you.

No matter what you do, make sure to have fun and enjoy each other's company. Summer is a great time to grow closer to God and to each other.

Here are some additional tips for planning a successful summer youth group program:

  • Start planning early. This will give you time to secure funding, find a location, and recruit volunteers.

  • Set clear goals. What do you hope to accomplish with your summer youth group program?

  • Plan a variety of activities. This will keep your youth group members engaged and excited.

  • Be flexible. Things don't always go according to plan, so be prepared to make changes as needed.

  • Have fun! Summer is a time to relax and enjoy each other's company. Make sure your summer youth group program is a fun and positive experience for everyone involved.

I hope these ideas help you plan a successful summer with your youth!
